WHAT IS YOUR CLASSIFICATION?
The Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Heading and Heeling are classified based on Pro, Challenger and Limited.
All athletes that purchase a WRC ID Card and enter an event or nominate will receive a Classification for the current segment and be placed on the respective leaderboard based on their individual discipline earnings.
PRO – CHALLENGER – LIMITED
As an athlete, there is a two-week deadline from the day you submit your first entry or nomination to dispute or accept your Classification per discipline. Once athletes have earned over 100 points on their respective leaderboard, they can no longer switch leaderboards
LIMITED
Limited classification targets athletes not yet Pros or Challengers, providing competition at Women’s Rodeo World Championship. It includes Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing (No Team Roping). Limited athletes cannot compete on Pro or Challenger leaderboards in Barrel Racing or Breakaway Roping.
CHALLENGER
An athlete’s Challenger status is based on earnings at the segment start. Midway review (January 15, 2024) may promote you to the Pro leaderboard if earnings exceed requirements. Qualifier Series points will also move with you.
PRO
An athlete’s Pro status is based on earnings at the segment start. Qualifier Series points will also move with you.
LIMITED CLASSIFICATION
The Limited will include Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing (No Team Roping). An athlete competing in the Limited cannot compete on the Pro or Challenger leaderboards in Barrel Racing or Breakaway Roping.
– Hasn’t held a Pro card in over five years
– Hasn’t competed in any regional association finals event in the past five years
– $75,000 or less in lifetime earnings (Equi-Stat)
– Hasn’t held a Pro Card in over five years
– Lifetime earnings of less than $5,000
– $3,000 or less in the year of 2018–2025
– If no earnings to verify, must fill out a Breakaway Roping form to self-declare within 2 weeks of nominating. Otherwise, they stay on the Pro or Challenger leaderboard
Up to 120 qualifications will be available for the 2025 Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping Limited Competition including:
— #1 – 50 on the Limited Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping leaderboard will qualify to the 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship
— #1 – #10 on the Limited Barrel Racing leaderboard will receive a complimentary entry fee
— #1 – #10 on the Limited Breakaway Roping leaderboard will receive a complimentary entry fee into Round One and Two
— Up to 12 Qualifier Series winners will receive a qualification to compete
— If a QS winner is inside of the Top 50 of the leaderboard, they will qualify with that position and WRWC will not drop down to fill the QS generic qualification.
— Up to 8 Last Chance Qualifiers
— Up to 50 athletes from approved WRWC affiliated events
— Everyone outside of Top 10 will pay a $100 entry fee in Barrel Racing and $150 entry fee in Breakaway Roping (including Qualifier Series generic qualifiers and Last Chance Qualifiers).
– Dispute window: All athletes currently classified on the W25 leaderboard have until Wednesday January 22, 2025 at 5 p.m. CT to email classifications@rodeologistics.co to self-declare they would like to move to the Limited Leaderboard.
– If at any time a Limited athlete competes at a W25 Qualifier Series event and wins the Open QS spot, they are automatically promoted to the Challenger Leaderboard.
– All athletes that submit their first nomination are defaulted on the Pro leaderboard until their Limited or Challenger classification has been confirmed.
– Once an athlete has been verified as a Limited, they have 72 hours of being placed on the W25 Leaderboard to request being placed on the Challenger or Pro leaderboard.
– After the deadlines listed above, once an athlete has earned over 100 points on the Limited, Challenger or Pro Leaderboard, they can no longer switch leaderboards.
CHALLENGER CLASSIFICATION
An athlete’s professional status depends on their earnings at the segment’s start, and Qualifier Series points will carry over.
You are a Challenger if your earnings do not exceed the amount listed below in any of the one defined time periods:
· 2018= $20,000 Annually
· 2019= $20,000 Annually
· 2020= $20,000 Annually
· 2021= $20,000 Annually
· 2022= $20,000 Annually
· 2023= $20,000 Annually
· 2024= $20,000 Annually
· Lifetime Earnings = $100,000
Barrel Racing will use the Equi-Stat ranking system to determine the Challenger classification. Athletes are eligible to participate as a Challenger if their earnings for either (not both) time periods listed above are below the amount listed for that time period.
You are a Challenger if your earnings do not exceed the amount listed below in any of the one defined time periods:
· 2018= $6,000 Annually
· 2019= $6,000 Annually
· 2020= $6,000 Annually
· 2021= $6,000 Annually
· 2022= $10,000 Annually
· 2023= $10,000 Annually
· 2024= $10,000 Annually
· Lifetime Earnings = $30,000

*Rodeo Logistics Athlete Classification (RLAC) is a proprietary rankings format developed by Rodeo Logistics and based on athlete earnings derived from select national and regional rodeo associations; select stand-alone events; WRWC 2020-23 events, and WCRA earnings from the 2018-23 calendar years. The RLAC database currently includes over 2,000 Breakaway Roping athletes.
