CHALLENGER INFORMATION

In an effort to create more opportunities for all women rodeo athletes, the Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) has launched a tiering system based on earnings and rankings in the respective disciplines at the WRWC. This tiering system will level the playing field by dividing the pro and challenger athletes into their respective pools in the 2022 WRWC qualifying rounds and give each group a direct path to compete at center stage.

An athlete’s status as a Pro or Challenger will be determined based on earnings pulled as of the new segment start date, October 4, 2021. Challenger Classifications will be updated quarterly.  Athlete earnings in barrel racing and breakaway roping will be reviewed at the end of each yearly quarter to verify classification status.  If an athlete is promoted out of the Challenger Leaderboard, the athlete’s total points and any Qualifier Series generic qualifications in that discipline will be moved to the PRO Leaderboard.

Women’s Rodeo World Championship Leaderboard

The W22 Leaderboard will be separated by Pro’s and Challenger’s using each discipline’s earning classifications.

All athletes that nominate an event for the W22 segment, and earn points, will be placed on the respective leaderboard based on their individual earnings.

If there are any athletes that are classified as a Challenger but would rather compete in the Pro Leaderboard, they must email support@wrwc.com within 72 hours of being placed on the W22 Leaderboard to declare their change. Once an athlete has earned over 100 points on the Pro or Challenger Leaderboard, they can no longer switch leaderboards.
