Dear WRC Cowgirls,
History was made.
On May 17, 2025, 26 cowgirls rode into AT&T Stadium with a shared dream: to take home the WRWC Event Championship title. These athletes proudly represented every Pro, Challenger, and Limited barrel racer, breakaway roper, and team roper who wakes up each day chasing the dream of competing in front of a crowd for a record-breaking payout.
Now in our sixth year, the Women’s Rodeo World Championship continues to grow and thrive. Here are some of the significant milestones from 2025 that we’re proud to highlight:
- WRWC aired exclusively on The Cowboy Channel
- The WRWC Championship Round was held live inside AT&T Stadium before 30,000 spectators
- $4.55 million paid out to athletes over six years
- New and continued partnerships with brands such as Boot Barn, Kimes Ranch, Tito’s Vodka, Smarty Rodeo, Montana Silversmiths, CEAT Tires, and Cowgirl Magazine. A complete list of sponsors is available at womensrodeochampionships.com
- The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame presented the third-annual Pam Minick Lifetime Achievement Award to industry icon Billie Bray
- Marked for Greatness/APHA hosted another successful Cowgirl Gathering, paying out over $340,000 and serving as the WRWC Last Chance Qualifier
To our 2025 Pro, Challenger, Limited, and Goat Tying World Champions—congratulations. Your week of competition was nothing short of impressive. To all 2025 WRWC athletes, we celebrate your accomplishments and the dedication it took to compete on this stage.
A special acknowledgment goes to our first-ever Limited competitors, including Emmry Edwards and Charmaine Holdren, who performed exceptionally inside AT&T Stadium and placed alongside the Pros and Challengers. Challenger Team Ropers Ashtyn Pratz and Tammy Lewis stood out by capturing the 2025 WRWC Event Champion Header and Heeler titles. And once again, Martha Angelone continued to set the bar, earning her third All-Around World Championship and fourth Breakaway World Championship.
We hope your WRWC experience was as meaningful for you as it was for us. Our mission was to ensure you felt recognized and appreciated for your achievement in qualifying and competing in this groundbreaking, equal-money rodeo.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are committed to raising the bar even higher. Your feedback is essential, and we encourage everyone to complete the surveys we are sending out. Tell us what worked well and where you think we can improve.
Here are a few key updates for 2026:
- All Qualifier Series (QS) events will now award points to the top 20 places and offer double points
- The complete list of 2026 QS events can be found at womensrodeochampionships.com
- We are proud to announce a new partnership with the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA), which will offer exclusive opportunities for WRC ID Card holders. More details about this partnership are also available on our website
- WRC remains committed to providing exclusive earning opportunities throughout the year to help athletes qualify for the WRWC
In 2026, we are placing a strong emphasis on growing our partnerships and expanding our media reach. If you or your family and friends haven’t already, please follow Women’s Rodeo Championships on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. We also encourage you to follow TOGETHXR, a media company striving to become the leading voice in professional women’s sports. Greater visibility for both brands means more opportunity and growth for the women’s rodeo industry.
Our success is made possible by your support. Every milestone we’ve reached is because of the passion and participation of athletes like you.
Thank you again for being part of the 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship. We look forward to what’s ahead in 2026.
Have a safe and successful summer rodeo season. Score sharp and run fast.
Sincerely,

Linsay Rosser Sumpter – WRC Commissioner
